I just read an old ( 2003 ) thread about a Springfield Armory Long Slide.
I've recently developed an intense interest in this pistol.
What ever happened to the gun in that thread? Did Springfield fix the problem or was the gun traded away with no resolution?

While there are a few Long Slide 1911's offered on the market, the 'SA' looks like the one I'd go for at this time...unless there's a reason not to.
