Please tell me about Detonics 1911's. Saw one at the gunshow and it was a great looking no frills Stainless Steel 1911. Does anyone own one here? Any feed back would be appreciated as I do not know much about 1911's in general. Thanks in advance!

the wife carrys one of the original carbon steel compacts it is great and reliable , the newer ones i cannot speak to .

i saw one of these at my local shop and thought it looked really nice. i, too, wondered about them. this one looked great for carry because it had a really short grip. however, then my husband said it was stainless rather than aluminum alloy, and that would be too heavy for me to carry. looks like a nice gun, though.
