The movie sets somewhere in the Southern Pacific Arena during World War II. The plot of the movie is pretty much one Japanese sniper against an Austrailian soldier in the jungle. Australian soldier is using a M1 Garand taken from a fellow soldier that was killed in combat. Japanese soldier in the end of the movie tries to commit suicide when he finds out the war it over.

George, you're thinking of "Hell in the Pacific." I think they were both pilots and I know Marvin played an American. Don't know the one Ken's referring to.

Thanks, now where would I find the DVD to this movie. Searched high and low with no luck.

Ken, it wasn't listed on the Movies Unlimited website and if it's available they'll list it 99% of the time. I could be wrong, but I'd guess it hasn't been released for home use yet. I know some "gray" dealers exist that actually have unreleased tapes that were dubbed from TV recordings. Current most requested film like that is supposed to be John Wayne's "The High and the Mighty." His son owns the rights and must be biding his time and watching the interest in it reach critical mass. Regards. Ed

Quote from the review

The Last Bullet puts a face on the enemy. It makes my generation realize that when Japanese sons and husbands died, Japanese mothers and wives wept. The anguish and pain that inevitably accompanies war was not exclusively American.

A multicultural war movie. What a revolutionary concept.
