Sold my LCP 380 two years ago...I carry my shield or XDS most of the time..However,I'm missing the challenge of the LCP so I'm looking to get another...I know they've upgraded them to better sights and better trigger..My LGS just got the new LCP's w/ stainless slide in..To anyone here with the newer ones I'd like to ask if there is a big difference for the better in the trigger and sights, and how do you like yours as compared to the older ones..Thanks in advance..

Thanks for posting this as I am about to do the same thing - buy an LCP. The ability to ALWAYS have a carry piece on me and the LCP pocket size and reliability is too hard to resist and even though it is snappy and not comfortable to shoot, it is not a range gun. I too am lookign forward to responses on old vs new LCP. I am also planning to get a SW642 or LCR38 as I like revolver reliability for carry, but LCP first.

Heard the new sights are big improvement but anything would've been better. Even the ct laser doesn't make a huge difference on the old model. Do have to admit the size convenience is hard to beat. I added an impact +1 clip extention I like a lot . It makes the grip better on big hands. Also bought a 10 shot clip and used racket tape on exposed extention. Great for range and home security for extra capacity. Pearson clip extention great for grip too. Still my easiest carry for pocket. Put some Nitesiters aplication on old model sites which help a lot. Over all , the lcp new or old is useful for me. For up close and ease of concealment hard to beat.

The LCP is one of those guns I want to hate. I have one that's about 2 years old. It has that long uncomfortable trigger and the nonexistent sights.

That said, I'll be doggoned if I don't have it stuffed in my boot right now. It's too easy of a back-up to leave at home. I always have a .357 snub nose or 1911 on my person when I'm out and about, but having that little .380 and fixed blade tucked away in my boot just feels right. Not the most accessible, but better to have something I can get to quickly than something I don't have on me at all.

My only complaint is that it chokes on the cheap Tula ball ammo.

I have had 3 (still have 2) of them. I got rid of the first gen, but while in my LGS last year he showed me the "new" LCP (2nd gen?). The sights are usable and the trigger is so much better.

I bought 2 of them.

I'll chime in on this... I love the new LCP. I previously owned two LCP's at different times since they first hit the market. I always loved the ease of carry, but I could never get used to the awful trigger.

But last week I was in a local store and handled one of the "new generation" LCP's. I instantly noticed the trigger is different. The rear sight is different too. Its a little higher than the old one.

So, overall, the trigger on the new model breaks sooner and there is a little more to work with on the sights. I finally had a chance to shoot it yesterday and my opinion is it is a drastic improvement over the old version.

Now, if I could only find a way to keep the thing from throwing brass in every direction...

I had a few older LCPs and then bought a newer updated model. The sights are better, but still not good. The trigger is a little bit lighter too, which isn't a bad thing. I had issues with the magazine not wanting to fully seat though.

I had that same magazine issue with this new LCP as well. It seems to have corrected itself with a little bit of use. It also seems that the new model's magazine seats a little deeper than the old model.

I picked up the new LCP with Viridian Green Laser (Talo). I have only shot an older LCP a couple of years ago so it is hard to compare.

I found it surprisingly easy to shoot. I have attached a pic from my first range trip. These 14 rounds are without the laser. Not great (3.5" group) but adequate for the first trip.

The laser system is terrific; providing automatic laser on/off when drawing/re-holstering when used with the ECR (Enhanced Combat Readiness) holsters. There are currently only four ECR holsters on the market for the LCP. The good news is that they range from $40- $45.

I love mine; slightly better sights and the trigger was improved. Heck, I shot 70 rounds out of it first time out. Very easy to carry.

I tried a buddies' newer LCP, sights are definitely nice.. Ended up buying a Kahr CW380 for basically the same money, and I like it a lot more..

Very soft shooting, better sights IMHO, but there are some folks reporting issues with them. Mines only got 100 rounds through it with one hiccup. Hard to say if it was a limp wrist or the ammo, or maybe the weapon.

Have to shoot it more, so we'll see but so far its a winner..

Bought my new LCP yesterday and have not fired it yet. Got it at a great price at Local store so I jumped on it. Sights are what they are - better than old model. Trigger has noticeable difference and better than the 380 Bodyguard I shot - that was my original choice. Looked at Kahr P380 but have read mixed reviews on that and they are priced a bit higher. Sig's and Colt Mustang just plain overpriced to me - fine pistols but can get 2 LCPs for same price and reliability not necessarily 2x better. I also do not plan to put 10K rounds through this at a range. For what I will use this for - pocket carry - the reliability is there and the price is right. Ordered hogue grip and will be ordering a Mika pocket holster. Will comment on shootability when I get it to the range.

Put 55 rounds - Federal range ammo and some hollow points - through the LCP. Shots were uniformly low but none left or right. At 5 yards when aiming at center of pie plate, most were at bottom of pie plate. This is likely me as i anticipated the gun to be very snappy and may be over compensating and pushing... Much better to shoot than the 380 Bodyguard I had tried, Trigger is long but not bad, Sights tolerable for what this gun is supposed to do and better than older LCP - never shot one but have handled them. No issues with gun at all. I am pleased and I believe it will be even better with Hogue grip I ordered, Frankly, it is the perfect pocket pistol. Disappears in the pocket. Stripping it is a breeze, Very pleased thus far.
