Looking at this scope for my winchester model 70 30-06

Anyone have this scope?
Is it a good deal (there is a $50 off coupon)
I want to shoot target (work my way up to 500 and beyond), and if I get the notion, ill go deer hunting some day.

and I think it would go great on an AR some day soon. (and i would get a more tradtional 3x9x40

Should be a fine scope. You might look at Nitrex TR1 at Natchezss and Bushnell 4200 at Cabela's if you want something (that I think would be) comparable for less money.

I think you may get a little more mileage out of something like a Nikon Buckmasters 4.5-14x40 Riflescope Side Focus pick your favorite reticle.

Natchez has the Nikon Monarch UCC 3-9x40 Riflescope BDC Reticle on sale for $199 an awsome deal for a very similar scope.
