Looking for a 2nd press...

I also have a Dillon 550 that I do most of my reloading on but I also have a Lee classic for depriming, etc. Nice little press!

2nd Press

I have a RL550B as well. I also have a Forster Co-Ax and it is awesome. I use it with Forster's Bench Rest Bushing Bump Dies. With their floating system, it makes the most accurate and dependable ammo I have every loaded. And I have tried them all.

It is not however, a good utility press. For instance, just yesterday I was pressing some 40S&W case through a Redding GRx die. The Co-Ax would not work for that operation because it has no shell plate holder. But my Redding Big Boss II worked just fine. The Big Boss II does it all. Five stars from me.

Too bad you don't want a RockChucker. I have a RockChucker II sitting in my shop because there is not enough room for it on my bench. I like having multiple presses for the exact reasons you mentioned. I need to build a couple more benches.

Get yourself a Big Boss II.

Cheers,
Wooly

Update: I ended up getting a new Rock Chucker Supreme.

Thanks for all the input.

The Redding Big Boss II has a better primer catching system but it is a larger press.

I also have a 550B and want t a single stage to do de-capping and other odd jobs, and also hate dealing with spend primer trash. The Redding Big Boss II and T-7 presses have a through-the-ram primer disposal system that is clean and totally mess-free. You might read up on them.

I have only bought one new press in the last ten years. I have had friends give me three presses once they find out I reload. Presses that have been sitting on their shelves for a long time unused. An old pacific O' press, a Lee and a big heavy Lyman all for free. The Lyman is set up for -06 and .308 and the pacific is for depriming mostly. The od Lee has been replaced by a newer style and I use a Lee classic turret for most handgun stuff.
