Looking for a air rifle for small game

I have a gamo big cat 1200, it's taken more rabbits than I can count. The cheap scope need to be rezeroed, need to use locktite on the rings, when it's sighted in I have been able to consistantly hit bottle caps at 50 yards. I wouldn't hesitate from using it on a coon or bobcat with a head shot.

Not to slight .22 caliber in any way

I grew up with Benjamin .22, it was better than anything else for the price. I had a few gamo's over the years but I think a straw with good slobered on spit wads produces better groups.

Some of the RWS'S, Beeman's and pretty much any Feinwerkbau are exellent but if you could get one in your price range it would be stolen or junk.

I gave up on air rifles a number of years ago and use a bolt, pump or lever action .22 with CB caps. About the same as a pellet gun but makes less noise and faster reloads.

I just picked up the Remington Vantage at Dunhams for $77.99 with the coupon they sent me but the average Joe can get it right now for $89.00.1200 fps amd this thing is well built. I went on line to read up on it and it got a 5 star rating. Comes with scope and mounts. Man does this thing shoot. Its not light, feels like a real gun. :):)

The PCP Air guns interested me until I found out how difficult to fill and how expensive they are. A box of CB shorts and a decent bolt action .22lr are much cheaper, easier to use and don't give up much or anything in noise. Legality is another matter depending on where you live.
