"Short cycling" a pump gun is a TRAINING issue, not a hardware glitch.

Whatever you use, learn to run the gun.

No fancy shotgun with whatever accessories can substitute for expertise.

Dave Mc,

You can call it whatever you want, but short cycling a pump gun happens all the time in police training where there is relatively little stress...seen it way too many times. Since our firearms training budget was cut 20% for next year, I don't think there's gonna be much more training.

Have to use a pump gun at work, but I'll stick with a RELIABLE autoloader for HD.

I got to agree with Dave here that short stroking is a training issue and not a hardware issue. I know all about budget cuts effecting training. In the USAF, we used to qualify shooters every 30 months, 15 months or yearly depending on their arming group. That has now changed to most folks other than cops, OSI, PJs TAC-P, etc. firing only when they are within a 90 day window prior to deploying or PCSing. Never deploy or PCS for say 15 years or so (as an example) you can go 15 years without ever firing a weapon. Is this right? Hell no but it's the way big blue wants to play it. I make it a point to tell every class I teach that training is on them to keep proficent. They can come out to shoot their 100 rounds for M-16 or 90 rounds for M9 with the limited training we can give them, get the official blessing to go off into a combat zone and hope for the best or they can get additional training on their own and improve their chances of surviving first contact. Up to them.
