I'm looking for an black, all leather holster for my 4" 586 and don't know what options are out there. Something with a sweat guard would be best so I don't have the rear sight digging into me. I don't want to spend more than $60. Want options do you guys have for me?

At $60, you are at the rock bottom end of the leather (well, just about any material) holster market. Upping your price to $100 will give you a bunch more options. In my quick search, I couldn't even find a Don Hume for under $60.

Lobo Gun Leather may have what you want. http://www.lobogunleather.com/5_iwb_belt_loop_style

Really, the cheapest holster of them all is the best for concealing a larger gun, the elastic belly band holster will allow you to carry almost anything. A friend who carries a 1911 showed me how to use a belly band. Since that day all the $100 custom holsters are gathering dust.

Check out Simply Rugged Sourdough Pancake. You can get it with removable IWB straps. That option may run you a bit over $60 though. Great product! I love mine with my 4" 586.

A belly band for a heavy gun? Oh, not for me, thanks. Slow to access, sagging, gun shifting. They work ok for the Kel-Tecs and such, but not for a near 40 oz. wheelgun!

Simply Rugged is very well thought of. There was a company called CABO (Carry A Big One) that was specializing in this sort of thing but I think they're out of business. You might find one for sale somewhere though.

If I may ask, why does it need to be all leather if it's going to be IWB, so not visible anyway?

If it doesn't have to be leather, I have a great suggestion:

I sometimes IWB carry a 4" 629 in a Hoffner's rig and it works great for me.

In the last pic, you can tell it's there if you're looking for it, but that's not bad for concealing a .44 Mag and 3 speed loaders.

A leather rig is nice, but there's something to be said for the lesser bulk of kydex when carrying such a large gun.

I just like leather but that hoffners rig looks nice. The belly band wouldn't work for me since I go across state lines on a near daily basis. I like something that is easy, easy off.

Sam, that Hoffner's doesn't torque / shift / rotate with all of the weight above the beltline?

I'm anxious to see suggestions as I'm looking for a comfortable carry method for a 4" 686. I tried one of the Uncle Mike's cheap-o nylon-ish IWB's, but the gun was too heavy for one clip and I spent all day hitching my pants up. I have a Bianchi OWB that works for woods carry, but I'm looking for some flexibility.

Nope. There's 4" of barrel behind that belt keeping things nice and firm.

Now, I did make a modification not shown in those pics. I drilled one hole at the rear of the holster and moved the rear belt loop back there. It didn't shift noticeably before, but it's rock solid now.

I started with a cheap Blackhawk holster. Works fine for my CZ75B but my 586 tore it up with the rear sight and making the holster come out with the gun.
