Hey yall im looking for a new tactical rifle. I already have an AR an AK and a Cetme. Im considering selling the Cetme though, I just dont use it enough. Whats a good inexpensive tactical rifle that i can add to my collection?

If you have a long shooting range nearbye how about a Savage 10fp or some other heavy barreled model bolt action with a decent scope. Your AR and AK will take anything up close so get something with some reach.

I've heard good stuff about the Savages, but, I'm more of a Remington/Winchester guy.

Rem 700 LTR's or PSS's can be had used at fair prices.

I picked up an LTR 223 in a trade a few months back. Very nice to shoot, very accurate.

I've spoken to guys that have the LTR in 308, they say it shoots just as good as the PSS's

223 ammo is cheaper

I'll sell you an SKS with EBR synthetic stock and a couple 30 round magazines for $225...I'm just across the river from The Ville! :D

What about a magpul masada , FN ps2000 , Steyer scout , Savage 10/110FP , Sig Sauer SG556 or if you have the shoulders for it they have the A.I Artic Warfare Magnum

What type of AK do you have and what is the caliber? Mabye you could pick up different model. Or an AR upper in 6.8. Or take BoilerUP's offer on the SKS since you can never have too many of those.

i was thinking more of a "assault rifle" even tough i hate to use that ridiculous term as they will be illeagal as soon as Obama takes office. G-d help us when that day comes

They can't be illegal if they're in "common use", right? I'll do my part to make sure that they are.

I already have a Savage 110 in .270 Win. ive got practice with it more, im not the best shot

Just a suggestion here, but only the first shot counts. Pretty much anything else just works to keep the survivors' heads down...

Get a good heavy-barrel bolt rifle, and learn to -really- shoot, not just spray and pray.

CMP Garand!

you won't know what you are missing, until you try one. AK reliability, AR accuracy (well, maybe not quite, but certainly better than the AK), and long legs. a very nice shooter.

CMP is also now selling scout rail mounts for the Garand. might make a nice poor man's M1D.

When you use the words "good", "inexpensive" and "tactical", that means AK.

Maybe an SKS, just make sure you have a lot of stripper clips !

I would recommend the Savage 10 FP. I am a lefty, so I got the 10FLP. I added a choate sniper stock and a good leupold MK4 Scope. Rifle itself was only 539. Whatever you choose to add after that is at your discretion.

Shoots sub MOA groups all day.

Sounds like you need to take the money and buy a case of ammo and get to the range, no offense.

I would agree with wobster; I have almost the EXACT same setup (savage 10flp .308, choate varmint, nikon 2.5-10X50, bipod) and it shoots sub moa groups after a little fine tuning. Plus the accutrigger is, well, awesome.
