my 2 criteria are: ultra reliable with HP rounds......and at least 8rd mag. Say....did i mention ultra reliable w/HP ammo?

I'd also offer that 'ultra reliable' is something that needs to be considered from a practical perspective.

Talk to enough folks in the instruction/training/repair/service/gunsmithing field and you'll generally hear that the significant majority of firearms 'functioning problems' are often user/shooter-related. I've often heard it placed, percentage-wise, in the 90-95% range as far as occurrence. Maybe so.

This makes it a bit difficult when it comes to making definitive statements about the 'reliability' of some semiauto pistols. What works acceptably reliably in the hands of one user/shooter may not necessarily lend itself to similar 'reliable functioning' in the hands of another person.

Handling & test-firing a prospective example, with a suitable selection of ammunition anticipated being used by the potential owner, is certainly something to be considered ... presuming it's possible ... but it's not a guarantee the same results will be obtained with another gun/ammunition combination, even in the hands of the same person.

G26 rules??? sure won't ride in my front pocket like my PM9 G26 almost 20 ounces, more capacity,yes certainly bigger all the way around.

A great gun for IWB Or OWB if thatis what you want. Love my G19 but sure not my go to every day carry...

I'd recommend one of these;

The Kahr and HK P7 are slimmer single stack.
The HK P2000SK is a chunkier double stack.

All three are reliable, accurate, handle all ammo I've fed them and have other great features.

The S&W M&P compact is rather "chunky," but the height and length are very compact. It comes with a flat-base and finger-extension magazine, both holding 12 rounds (in 9mm). The H&K P2000SK is about the same size and capacity and looks nice, but costs 50% more.
