Looking for a used o/u

I am learning to shoot skeet using a 12 ga Remington 1100 and, learning about various o/u, hefting some, and looking for an affordable starter, I am leaning toward a 12 ga Beretta 686 Silver Pigeon 30" if I can find one used.

I have checked the prominent online sites. I am in the middle of New York State and have found few dealers.

I can’t seem to find any used at a better price than a new one.

Does anyone know of a secret cache of used o/u somewhere or do I have to wait until income taxes come due for people to reluctantly sell? Thank you.

Used Beretta and Browning Citoris sell for close to new price because these guns will last a lifetime. So they don't depreciate much until they are truly beat up.

If you want a deal - go look for an older Beretta 682 with the silver receiver, or a 682 Gold (not the Gold E, the Gold has a black 'greystone' receiver) These are older versions of the competition grade 680 series and can be found in good condition for about what you pay for a lightly used 686.

A friend bought a Y gun recently (demoed sp l beretta 686 sporting) for about 1800 exactly as OP describes. It's a sweet gun. PM me for the dealer. They do a good bit of on line trading but inventory on these guns is spotty. You gotta be ready when they come available.
