So I’m looking at ordering the LaRue UU kit and a matching LaRue lower In 7.62 and here’s what I have lined up so far for the upper:

-complete upper receiver

-PredatAR 7.62 18” barrel

-15.5” M-Lok

-Gas Block Assembly + Charging Handle

-LaRue 7.62 bolt carrier

-LaRue bolt

Is it wise to go with the PredatAR barrel, or should I just go with the regular 18” barrel? Also, should I go with the 13” M-Lok instead of the 15.5” since that is also an option?

Handguard length is a personal choice. I prefer the dissapator look with the long handguard. Im running a 15" handguard on my 16" 5.56 barrel.

Keep in mind that an extended handguard needs a low profile gas block.

Otherwise, im not familiar with your choices or AR10s in general.

I like the longer handguard. With an 18" barrel a 15" rail the bbl will still protrude but I think it would be excessive protrusion with a 13" rail. JMO. It is a personal preference. What I would do is find pics online of uppers with rails that fit the criteria and put them side by side for comparison. One will definitely stand out to you and you'll be able to make your decision. I dont think there is really a substantial downside to either other than the longer will have a lil more heft out front and the longer also gives you more bearing surface (area of contact between two objects) to set your rifle on for stability. The longer rail also provides a little more protection to your bbl and protection from being burned from bbl to skin contact when you drop your rifle to hang from the sling when switching to pistol, etc... although not a huge concern for most I'm sure. Just pointing it out......
