Looking for an American 1911.

There is nothing inherently wrong with MIM applications. To base purchase of a pistol based purely on that is erroneous. QC is the issue, not the MIM.

Victory Arms and Detonics USA both gearing up for 1911 production, both 100% American. In fact the Detonics Combat Master was reviewed in this month's Shooting Illustrated. Love my Georgia Detonics Combat Master.

Pretty much said it all here, excepi I noticed a couple incorrect statements.

Components which are produced in the Phillipines, while the pistol is assembled in the USA, is a pistol Made In the USA. No, not 100% as I would prefer it but damn close.

The Spartan is NOT assembled in the US (neither are ria's), it's assembled in the philippines on the armscor medallion line ...they just use sti internals. In fact it looks like an armscor medallion. This is from STI's website:

All Spartan internal parts are shipped to Armscor from the STI plant
in Texas and a special division, personally headed by Armscor’s master
gunsmith, Arnel Bernardo, does the fitting. Bernardo is the father of
Armscor’s top-of-the-line Medallion series.

Dan Wesson is sourced from S.America I thought, and finished up here? Still the DW Valor is a favorite of mine.

DW's are completely made in the us, with us made parts.

S&W +1; Or have an American Gunsmith build one from Caspian Frame and Slide and American parts from Brown, Wilson, Bar Sto, etc.
Cheers, TF
