Hey all - I need to split my antique gun collection with my brother; however, we don't know what they're worth.

So, does anyone know of a reputable antique gun appraiser that could help us out?

Thanks and regards,

Jason

If they're valuable antiques, like singular examples of a particular gunmaker or with documented provenance, Julia is a good choice. However, most folks can get close enough with a copy of Flayderman's Guide to Antique American Firearms, available from any local bookstore or amazon.com.

I sent an email to David Condon asking about appraisal pricing recently but haven't yet seen a reply. Perhaps I'm too impatient; I should probably allow week for a response.

Perhaps if you give him a call, depending on the level of services that you need he can recommend someone that's located closer to you.

Post pictures here, I can probably tell you what you have with 98% certainty. It's no use spending the money on an appraisal only to hear it's a fake.

Getting a pre-emptive free appraisal online before going out and spending money is generally worth it. If you end up deciding to sell it and wanting a complete certified appraisal this won't hurt you in any way.

Thanks for the offer there Chase. If you let me know your email address, I'll send photos. Or, you can see them on this site by typing in the following in the search box:

"Guns from the attic"
"More attic guns"
"More attic guns part 3"
"More attic guns part 4"

Thanks again!

Jason
