Well it appears the best option for me right now is the Milt Sparks Summer Special 2. It is the only IWB model that they offer with a retention strap. I'll bet somebody is gonna say, "What do you need a retention strap for??? The gun won't come out!", but I gotta have one. I like the option of going snapped or unsnapped. And I like something between the hammer and firing pin.

My current IWB holster for my Browning Hi-Power is the Bianchi Pistol Pocket. While it is a nice holster and works very well, it does not have a sweat guard. Now here comes the problem with the Sparks SS2. The sweat guard does not fully cover the hammer and with the retention strap, the sweatguard doesn't even cover the safety on the retention strap model!!!! :banghead: And what happens is when I sit down the hammer has a tendancy to dig into my side a little, especially when driving. I want to eliminate this problem with a full sweat guard that will come up a little more and cover the hammer. And how do you guys use those single magazine carriers??? When I put it on my belt and sit down the mag digs into my side something awful (much worse than the HP), I'm gonna get a horizontal nylon mag pouch for my belt. Won't dig in and more secure. Looked at Black Hills Leather and they don't seem to provide the option either...

Perhaps I should be talking to Alessi for a custom holster? I also want to get one for an Italian Beretta or Elite 1, (I haven't decided which yet), however the hammer digging into the side with a Beretta will not be as much of an issue. Does the Milt Spark's Summer Special 2 have the same length sweat guard as the Versa Max 2? Personally I like the SS2 over the VM2 anyways. It seems less bulky and more versatile. Here's a pic of my current IWB holster which I like, but needs a sweat guard:

I was also thinking of just having someone stitch a sweatguard on the side. Comments? Suggestions?

Hello Glockster. I checked out the link, but it doesn't appear that they state the retention strap as an option. Have you ordered from them before?

I have no use for a holster here in Germany, so I haven't bought one yet. All my guns are back in the states.

I don't know if Mr. Brommeland makes them with thumb straps, but I am sure if you send him an e-mail he will respond.

Anyone else notice the horrible gun handling in the andrews webpage? Ever pic showed a finger inside the trigger gaurd, wrapped around the trigger while drawing the gun. You would think there would be a little more professionalism than that?   :banghead:
