I'm trying to find a knife which exists only in my head.... to the best of my knowledge it does not actually exist.
It should be a basically straight blade with a basically straight handle. It should have a strong crosshilt. it needs to have a 'chopping' section, just forward from the guard on side of the blade, suitable for snapping through medium thick wood, or axing through slightly thicker logs. It should have a saw section somewhere on the blade for sawing more carefully and precisly, and it should have a normal sharpened section on the forward portions of the blade, including at least some sharpening back along the backwards edge.
I'm thinking this would be usefull as a deep bush knife and possible for combat in a pinch... but I can't find a knife that looks like this. (although I have found knives that had MOST of those features)
The closest is the tom brown tracker, (link below,) but it is far to curved, and lacks a crossguard.
Is it possible I'm asking the wrong questions?
