I checked all the gunshops within an hour of where I live and received several leads on a black powder source. All of them were in vain. Black powder is getting more scarce than hen's teeth. Does anyone here know of a source anywhere from Roanoke to VA Beach, VA or from Winston Salem to Raleigh, NC.?

I mail order mine in bulk. You save big that way. If you don't need that much, ask a few buddies if they want to split an order with you. I buy from powderinc.com.

Just be sure you're allowed by the state and county, and if needed, municipal regulations, to have BP, how much, and how you can store it. A reenactor up here in the Peoples Republic of MD had about half a case, as he was the "powder-monkey" for his reenactment group..., and he was 7 cans over the limit for a single family home, 12 cans over the limit for a town home. So check your area laws.

Grafs store brand 2FG is 10.99 a lb on their website, that may be per LB. per Case though.

Who snitched on the powder monkey??? makes one wonder.

Alas I have to order some powder soon. I'll probably go with Grafs store brand. it's from Germany and supposed to shoot cleaner than Goex.

:( I'm almost out of the 15 , 1 lb cans of Elephant BP I bought in 2000 for $10.00. One of the better buys I made. I have 2 cans left. :( :( :(

Nope, sold individually. They do have a $20 minimum order though...

Knew you guys would point the way. I just ordered from Graf at $10.99 (to $13.99 for 4f) per pound with a $20.00 Haz Mat fee (free fee on orders of 32 pounds but I only ordered 5). I expected to pay much more than that. Thanks again.

Gonna be ordering some Graf Powder then. I couldn't under stand the code behind the price in the header.
I'm gonna miss my Elephant Bp when it's gone....may put a little in one of my old horns. I kept some Dupont 4 FG for 36 years in a priming horn. Still good when I burned it and washed out the priming horn so I could bring it home on a plane...without having a ruckus at the airport.
Made really sure my hands were really clean too, and they didn't even do the chemical test on me. Better safe than sorry.

Free Hazmat for 32 pounds? Sounds like an order for one 12 pdr Napoleon for almost one engagement. Actually, it's group buy!
