I just put a S&W revolver on layaway, can someone tell me if its a rare variant? Because i cant find anything on the web that even mentions it.

Its a S&W 627 in .357 magnum. Unfluted cylinder, stainless finish. wood grips, 5.5 inch barrel. Model of 1989. Was this a pretty rare variant?

Hello
The model of 1989 is a special introduction model and they only made 278 of them, according to my reference material.

Very nice gun!! I've been trying to pry open my wallet to buy one for awhile now. The only one I know of personally, has an asking price of $750.

Kinda pricey, but boy does it look nice...

They were only made for one year as a special production. It was the inital run of the M627 and they were 6 shooters. All following M627s are 8 shooters. All total around 5300 were made. If your serial number starts with BEF then you have one of the first 278 made.
