Can anyone recommend a good firearms instructor in San Antonio, Texas. Preferably on the north or northwest side of town.

I have 2 friends in that area and they are both expressing an interest in getting a pistol of some kind (9mm is what they said) and are wanting to get some good practical/safety instruction. Not sure (thought I doubt) if concealed carry is an option.

Thanks.

I recently moved to San Antonio. I saw your post earlier, but I have no personal experience taking a class with anyone in the city. I suggest looking up instructors on the internet yellow pages, then calling them to get a feel for their level of dedication, professionalism, etc.

I'm kind of in the same boat, but I'm looking for a rifle class in the local area (i.e. not all the way out in Dallas or Kingsville)

Wetmore Shooting Sports

I can recommend Mr. Franklin Boyer. His company is Wetmore Shooting Sports, and I took my CHL class from him. He works for the SAPD, and is a Glock armorer. Straight up guy who teaches everything from basic safe operation and familiarity classes, all the way up to 2-day advanced pistol classes. For the CHL class he includes the prints pictures, everything. I got it all done in 1 day. He is als my FFL for transfers and he will order new stuff for you for cost+10%. PM me for more info.

I can second Frank Boyer, he is the ffl I use as well. I can also recommend Ted Bonnet in San Antonio. I took my initial chl class with him a several years ago and recieved some excellent instuction. He is very flexible on class time and days. PM me for his info if you would like it.
