This is Series 70 Colt Reproduction, custom build.
Recently I took it apart for some cleaning, I have approximately 1800 rounds through it at this point.
The Cocking lug is showing some signs of wear in odd pattern.
The Kart barrel is showing the same.
Ideas??? Clearly not normal wear. I had an Ed Brown Disco in previously asked a smith to fit it, and ended up with this one... stainless... appears to be a chiseled tip. Looks like it's effectively scraping the metal.

I'd radius and polish the tip of the disconnecter.
Then check for proper fitting and function with the sear legs.

But I'd be way more concerned about the unusual wear on the bottom of the right slide rail.

In the photo it appears there is a deep gouge in the bottom of the right rail the full length of it's travel on the frame. The same wear is showing on the top edge of the bottom of the right frame rail groove itself where it has been rubbing the bottom of the slide.
That right there just ain't right.

Apparently the slide was never fitted properly to the frame and was pressing down tightly against the frame itself on the right side. That tilted the slide on the frame and caused the disconnecter wear to be off-center to the right as well.
The disconnector wear pattern should be right down the center line of the slide surface, not off to the right side like it is.

What to do now is the question.

Since it has already worn the deep groove in the bottom of the slide rail, I guess just keep it lubed and keep on chugging along. It probably wouldn't hurt to relieve a little of the sharp edges of the groove worn in the slide rail and polish it, then keep it well lubed to prevent further wear.

BTW: The whole wear pattern of the gun appears to me it ran without sufficient lube, or any lube, during those first 1,800 rounds. I can't see any signs of lube on anything in the pictures. Even down inside the hammer cut in the frame, or in any of the cracks or crevices down deep inside.

Galling damage from badly fitted parts and lack of proper lubrication. Probably (prolly for the spelling challenged) permanently damaged beyond repair.
As RC said, the sear legs are not working with the disconnector to allow it to withdraw and it is digging into the bottom of the slide. But there is more going on here - parts are showing wear/damage that should not be occuring. Since the OP said it was a "build" it seemes the "builder" just put parts together without regard to fit and interaction.
What is the "Cocking lug" - not familiar with this term.

I think he was calling the disconnector rail a "cocking lug". The gun has definitely been worked on, the rear end of the slide rails of the frame appear to have been peened and lowered and the slide looks to me like it was squeezed. The ejector also looks as though it's leaning to port a little bit.

The ejector also looks as though it's leaning to port a little bit.......

That's pretty funny ! Unfortunately, seems to be true.

Your disconnector is shaped wrong. It should have a flat margin on the top and be polished to prevent the chatter marks it produces. Secondly ..the dimension of the hammer is too great now that the frame has been altered. The slide is sitting low and the hammer is dragging down the disconnector rail. You should inspect the clearance in the grip safety pocket to be sure the hammer isn't bottoming in the safety. Look for bluing wear on the hammer and or the safety pocket. You may file a flat on the hammer to allow added clearance where the wear from the disconnector rail is evident. This will help the life of your trigger job as the hammer won't be bouncing so much on the sear nose and hammer hooks. Thirdly the ejector is shaped incorrectly.

You will want to resolve these issues soon as it will continue to get worse until the gun MAKES the clearance it needs by agressive wear. You will want to be sure that you have proper disconnector action if you blunt the end and polish.

Cheers
Mac.
