I enjoy my SAR B6PC. It's in my carry rotation as it has proven reliable and accurate.

ok folks. I thank you all for the recommendations. I ended up going with a S&W M&P 9 with the manual thumb safety. I got a screaming deal on it because of a snaffoo with the LGS so it met all of the criteria. some things I've found.
1. I am definitely going to look a little better at the diamondback db9.
2. after dry firing the taurus pt111 I am standing firm on the "no taurus" bullet point.
3. you guys are a horrible influence on me.

9mm for less than $400(brand new only, I am not looking for used so please don't tell me to look for a police trade in glock). hammer or striker, metal or poly frame, makes no difference to me. I would prefer service sized handguns with at least a 4 inch slide.

You should be able to find a Zastava EZ9 new, for around that price. Might have to hunt a little.
