Any of you guy's do any reblueing on the side? Need the floor hinge plate of a Rem 700 reblued. It's scratched up...
Just wondered if anybody did any good work and was willing to do it?

If so...what would the cost be?

Contact me @ [email protected] or PM me here.

Thanks!
Tim

The trigger gaurd and floor plate on a 700 are aluminum, it will have to be anodized or some other finish applied like gun coat.
If you drop it in blueing tanks..............it will disolve.

While you are at it, might as well have the whole thing done so it all matches up.

I've used Aluminum Black by Birchwood Casey.

It's pitch black with no reflection. It does rub off some but small scratches will be ok. It's hard to get it to take unless you clean it per the instructions.

If you're doing a large area it will probably need a sealing clear coat with a flat to gloss finish.

Use gloves and LOTs of rinse water. The MSDS on it is pretty bad.
