One other thing to consider: Taxes.
East of the Mississippi, the states w/o income tax are:
New Hampsire, Tennesse and Florida. New Hampshire reportedly can have some pretty high property taxes.
West of the Mississippi:
South Dakota, Texas, Wyoming, Nevada, Washington State and Alaska.
A lack of state income tax might make wealth acquisition slightly easier in the long run.
If you actually do consider offers from fly-over country, it might be in your best interests to avoid the decidedly liberal states there: Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas. You'll also note that in these states only Minnesota has shall isssue, Iowa has may issue and the other four have NO provision for legal concealed carry by citizens.
It might make yer choice and our recommendations a bit easier if you made a list of wishes/requirements ranked by importance.
