I know there's a separate Holsters sub-forum, but I thought I'd put this here initially just to get a little more traffic.

I don't know if there's anybody else who has run into this problem, but I recently purchased another Serpa CQC holster and it has a relatively loose fit. The first one I bought locks the pistol in nice and tight and the new holster, while being secure, allows the pistol to rock back and forth about a quarter-inch.

I googled the problem and found this thread about it over on the GlockTalk forums:

There's even some good pictures of the issue in that thread.

The fix appears to be getting the proper "Rail Spring" which is inside the holster and contacts the pistol on the dust cover, just forward of the trigger guard. Apparently there's some holsters out there without this rail spring. It's easy to install, just requires the removal of the passive-lock adjustment screw, drop in the rail spring, and replace the screw.

I called Blackhawk and just got off the phone with Peggy. She said she's had one other call about this and had no problem mailing me the part free of charge. She was absolutely great to deal with and the process went really quick. She also looked up the shipping time to let me know to expect it in about three days.

So, for those of you with Serpa holsters or looking at getting one, just be heads up. If you end up with one without this rail spring Blackhawk seems to be perfectly willing to send the part free of charge.

I just purchased a S&W 442 and a Blackhawk Serpa holster for it. Mine too, while locking in the gun, has considerable back and forth play. I contacted Blackhawk CS and talked to Peggy, who is researching the issue for this particular type of holster. Will post with any results. Outside of this problem, I like the holster and the gun! Cheryl
