No way of knowing what the true history is of your rifle but it is a WW2 rifle by date. Like many it was refurbished and has a replacement barrel. The part numbers and coding of the all the parts will probably confirm refurbishment. With a 56 barrel I'm betting it gauges well within normal limits and should be a good shooter.
If it was mine and it had a good military issued stock I would salvage it and make it work. I wouldn't drop the coin on a replacement stock.
