Louisiana:Hunting with Suppressor Bill Passes House, Goes to Senate

(Not sure if this goes here or in Legal, please move if necessary)

This bill, HB 186 would allow hunting with suppressors in the State Of Louisiana.

"This week, the Louisiana House of Representatives passed NRA-supported House Bill 186 by an 82 to 15 vote. Sponsored by state Representative Cameron Henry (R-Metairie), HB 186 would allow for the use of lawfully-owned suppressors while hunting all game animals. HB 186 now goes to the state Senate for its consideration. "

.

I would urge those who are not up to speed on suppressors to become more knowledgeable about them, their use and their characteristics prior to casting blanket judgement. It would not be very different than those who have never had experience with firearms supporting more restrictions because guns are scary and they have no use for them.

Suppressors make shooting more enjoyable for everyone.
1. Those that don't want to loose their hearing hunting
2. Those that want to introduce youth to shooting sports without the blast and bang
3. Those who want to enjoy a lazy peaceful day without hearing gunfire in the distance

In Activism threads we stay on point and don't drift into discussions unless they're specifically on how to move the effort forward.

If you want to have a broader discussion, start a thread in the appropriate forum on that topic. Activism Discussion, Legal, Hunting would be appropriate discussion forums for those.

Any win for gun owners should be appreciated.

If I am not mistaken the Dan Zelenka and the Louisiana Shooting Association should be credited for getting this bill started.

Any of you Louisiana guy should check out he LSA. If you live in another state try to find and support your states organization.
