Love and The High Road.

I didn't meet my current or former SO on this site, but on a similar "firearms" website. My former SO and I were together a year and a half before things ended. My current SO is a firearms dealer and our first date was at the range with a bunch of local cops.

I won't date a man who has a problem with my owning a firearm. I live alone and have for the past 4 years. Anyone not willing to understand and accept that I have to be able to protect and defend myself when he's not around is not worthy of more than about 5 minutes of my time.

I went on a second date with a guy in October of 2005 who upon kissing me goodnight discovered my gun on me. He wigged out and got this "holier than thou" tone with me. He promptly got kicked to the curb.

That would be so cool, to be on a date, on the doorstep, kiss goodnight, and both notice the other's CCW for the first time. :D

Be a refreshing change of pace from the usual reactions at any rate. Kinda sexy, too.

+1. Although the chances of that happening must be something like 1 in 4,937,883.

About the odds of finding my perfect soulmate, but I did ;)

(cue sappy music)

We didn't meet through any firearms site, and she shoots simetimes but is not crazy like me.

Not on THR, but I did date someone I met on FreeRepublic.com, which is a conservative political site. Our personalities were too different, and I wasn't keen on moving to Houston, so it ended after I had made a few trips out to visit her. We still exchange e-mail on occasion. As you might imagine, there are not many single, conservative, gun-owning gals in southern California.

I knew as soon as his hands found it and he yanked back and scowled that it was going to be bad news. I was annoyed as hell that he got so bent out of shape on a SECOND date over my carrying, especially since this guy seemed well-aware of how dangerous the city we live closest to (Memphis) is.

Thank God it happened on the second date so that he didn't waste any more of my time.

<<I know it's kind of a stupid thread, but I enjoy learning about the people on THR>>

Not really.
There are people (some) in the world, which thinks, people that are into guns, firearms, hunting, lack a lot of things in life and talk only about one thing.
So happened to me, one time, maybe more. Someone was talking about literature. Btw, I am not an author or into literature THAT MUCH.
Well…talking about known authors. I recited: “It thought it was a rose and all the summer laughed”.
You should have seen her jaw dropped.
Going on

How beautiful at eventide
To see the twilight shadows pale,
Steal o'er the landscape, far and wide,
O'er stream and meadow, mound and dale!

How soft is Nature's calm repose
When ev'ning skies their cool dews weep:
The gentlest wind more gently blows,
As if to soothe her in her sleep!

The gay morn breaks,
Mists roll away,
All Nature awakes
To glorious day.
In my breast alone
Dark shadows remain;
The peace it has known
It can never regain.

Went on with:

I can write no stately proem
As a prelude to my lay;
From a poet to a poem
I would dare to say.
For if of these fallen petals
One to you seem fair,
Love will waft it till it settles
On your hair.
And when wind and winter harden
All the loveless land,
It will whisper of the garden,
You will understand.

And there is nothing left to do
But to kiss once again, and part,
Nay, there is nothing we should rue,
I have my beauty,-you your Art,
Nay, do not start,
One world was not enough for two
Like me and you.

In a way it was bittersweet, because it was becoming into a game show, with her now!
I like it better, when she thought I could only think….talk, about one thing.
