A few months ago I decided to upgrade my 25+ year old ruger 10/22. I picked up the ruger when I was in college and have put thousands of trouble free rounds through it. I decided to change out the stock to a boyds Tacticool and the barrel to a green mountain 16.5" Fluted bull barrel. Those two upgrades plus a volquartsen hammer and I had a "new" rifle.
I went to the range yesterday and tried out my new toy. I just ordered some federal auto match, wolf match and fiocchi exacta but it has not yet arrived. So the only ammo I had on hand was federal 525 round count bulk. Once I zeroed the scope (Mueller 4.5-14 APV) I started to shoot some 10 shot groups (rested, on a sandbag). I am happy to report every 10 shot group was less than 1" (some just barely!) I cant wait to see what this new barrel will shoot with match ammo!
Lastly, pictures will follow when I get some free time.
