Loving Full Size .380 (Anybody Else)

The Colt Government Model fires from a locked breech and has easy recoil. I got it when my daughter was ready to move up from the 1903 in 32acp.

The CZ83's are blowback, but great pistols. MY FiL has an excellent one. I sold mine because it shot so far from POA.

The Beretta 84's are nice. I have an Israeli surplus one that's a little beat up, but a good shooter. (It's the one on the left.)

I got the Russian "commercial" Makarov (380acp) in about 1988, for $89. It's completely reliable and surprisingly accurate.

The FN is kind of rare. I don't believe I've seen another one.

I'm waiting to see if S&W makes an Equalizer in .380. I'm going to be getting a Shield EZ in 9mm in the next few weeks. Finally getting tired of carrying steel now that I'm older.

I am too! A mid size EZ double stack/Equalizer in 380 would be about perfect. I love my EZ380.

I’ve got a stainless Colt’s Government .380, I even carried it for a bit. If I hadn’t bought a Kahr CW9, I’d probably still be carrying it. Very pleasant pistol to shoot… unlike my brother’s PPK/s… which pounds your hand into putty. He carries the Colt, now… ;)

In reality, my Kahr 9mm is roughly the same size, shape, and weight as my .380… so I opt for the more powerful 9mm…

For those complaining about the Walther PPK, don't shoot the Hungarian FEG PA63 chambered in 9x18 then. The FEG PA63 is a very close copy of the Walther PPK but is chambered in 9x18. I don't shoot my PA63 very often or more than just a couple of mags at a time.

While I don't consider it a full size pistol, my Llama IIIA is a nice shooter. And it just looks so cute for being a scaled down 1911 clone.

I have one that was my granddads. Neat little ~3/4 scale 1911s, much nicer than the later blowback mini max guns. If I could fine a spare barrel and bushing, I'd suppress it.

I also had a beautiful nickel & wood 84FS, but blowback .380s are lousy hosts. Tempting as some of the import "surplus" 84s and 85s were, I'm just not gonna use them being loud hosts, so I passed. I haven't shot my CZ83 .380 since I first got into cans and realized this is an issue about 6 years ago.

Why, why would you dare post that picture of that beautiful Browning pistol. I told my wife after buying a new car last week my secret gun money stash was used up. Now with the ground froze up it'll be spring till I'll be able to dig up another mason jar.
