LR-308 barrel issues

Hey guys tried to post this earlier with my phone didn't work out too well so here goes a better try.

Alright I am in the middle of a LR-308 build. I have started to get parts in, but not a word from DPMS on my 24 inch 1 in 10 twist barrel. I called DPMS and they told me they had no clue when it will ship. "It could be 1 month 3 months or 6 months... but that's just an estimation." straight from the horses mouth. Well this has kinda chapped my rear end, and is not in anyway how you run a business.

So I'm going to let my dollar do the talking, or lack of my dollar. After doing some more reading it seems that a 24 doesn't really help any more than a 20 or even an 18 inch. I'm kinda wary of getting an 18 inch, but have no problem getting the 20. Where are some places I could place an order monday and get the product by the following monday??

well maybe not a week turn around, but at least something better than "we have no frigg'n clue if your even going to get your barrel this year."

Look to another company like GAP to drop in a barrel to continue your build? Either that or wait by the phone every day for the rest of the year. They'll know you're desperate and the ball is in their court. I'm not keen on ETAs that keep sliding back and I'm even less keen on open-ended ETAs.

Looks like Midway has a 18" barrel in stock, and appears to have an AR-10 upper instock, DPMS. Other than that one 18" barrel, the only other 308 barrels/uppers are all back ordered.

Okay angry update time. I call back to DPMS wanting to press a bit harder this time, or at least modify my order to at least get some sort of ETA. Well it turns out that after my last phone call. They totally scrapped my order. The fellow I spoke with today could bring up that I had called asking about ETA's but never said anything about canning my order (I was in too much shock to do or say anything). So yea I will not be ordering anything from DPMS again. Sorry just had to vent.

Call WOA to see if they have anything in stock-ready to ship. I wouldn't wait 6 months for a DPMS barrel.

Depending on your budget, try looking at these barrels:

Quite a few of those make barrels for .308 including Hart, Broughton and Lilja.

Yes, Rainer Arms and also Fulton Armory. I purchased a 22" Stainless National Match from Fulton Armory. The twist is 1-12 but that gun can shoot.

well i just ordered my krieger barrel. going to be about 20 weeks, but I have a true ETA plus the boys down there answered all my dumb questions with non-judgemental answers. the waiting game begins
