Lube on case necks after sizing

Recently, I've noticed that after the case has been resized and comes out of the die, the neck and shoulder of the case (6.5 x 55 SE) has lube on it. I thought it odd, but thought maybe it had always been that way but I had never noticed it. I know I wasn't getting any lube on the shoulder or neck before resizing so it must be getting on there from up inside the die.

Well, out of 8 resized cases yesterday three of them came out with dents in their necks. The brass was PMC brand and had been used three times before (factory load, reloaded twice already).

Would it be the lube getting on the neck and shoulder from inside the die that is causing the dents in the neck? Or could it also be that this was just cheaper brass that had worn thin? Do I need to clean out my resizer die and if so, what is the proper procedure? Would it also need some type of oil or protectant put on it to prevent rust after it was cleaned?

Lube can build up inside the die. I clean mine often. What type of lube are you using?

The lube you are putting on the case body is migrating up the case as the sizing pressure is applied. You are putting too much lube on the case body. A thin coating is all that is needed. Clean the die by removing the de-capper assy, use some solvent and a chunk of paper towel to flush out the excess lube. If you're not going to use it right away, then a rust protectant should be used.

You wouldn't have that problem if you used Imperial Sizing Die Wax.

I purchased the RCBS Rockerchucker Supreme Master kit last December. It came with the RCBS Case lube.

Thanks, I figured that I might be using a little too much lube. After cleaning with a solvent, what type of rust protectant would you recommend?

Actually I have some Imperial Sizing Die Wax. I bought some after I heard such good things about it. However, I am definitely my fathers son as I can't stand to see anything go to waste. I can't get myself to use the Imperial until I've used up the RCBS lube.
