Hey guys what do yall use for lube? Getting ready to clean and lube my PF9 for the first time. I Have some M-Pro & Gun Oil LPX. Would this be ok or should I use gun grease?

Thanks

I'm agree with Coromo. I don't like paying 1000% mark-up on engine oil. I make my own lubes now with some variation for different weapons and enviroments.

My average lube is thick but liquid. Like Ketchup.

My favorite lately:
STP, ATF, Lucas Red&Tacky synth bearing grease. Mixed evenly.

STP, ATF, 15w40 is much thinner, but deosn't last as long.

I use Breakfree CLP to clean and protect and inside my barrels.

I like Break-Free LP for a lube........not Break-Free CLP, Break-Free LP - I don't need the "cleaner" for lube.

My old man uses Ballistol. Kind of all in one cleaner/lube. Works just fine. I use a little Hoppes #9 for sh*ts and giggles too.

Anyone ever use Eezox?

Ballistol seems to work well on my GLOCK rails. It's the only stuff that I let touch the GLOCK. It also seems to work well on my revolvers.

I've been using regular white lithium grease and Mobil 1 20W-50 on my new DW 1911. Seems to work great.

Formerly I used Eezox for a solvent and corrosion protector (like CLP, but reportedly better corrosion protection) and a very thin coat of waterproof bearing grease on the rails and anything that slides. Then I started getting failures to return to battery in cold weather from the grease being too thick and slowing the slide.

I only use the grease on my Garand now and all the pistols get just Eezox. Seems to lubricate fine.

Only downside of Eezox is that it smells funny...kinda like grandma's perfume.

I really miss the days when Hoppes #9 was what a clean gun smelled like.

I've been carrying a PF-9 for two years now. I lube it with either Breakfree CLP or Remoil and it's been 100%. I think it's important to keep firearms properly lubed. I'm not convinced that there's a great difference in performance between various brands/types. Just about any decent lube will do the job. Find one you prefer and stick with it. Your gun will thank you.

TW25B came with my SIGs and I like the way the slide stay smooth and they run well (The SIGs).

So for a grease I use that. I used Eezox for a solvent and corrosion protector too.

Lateck,

Oh, was that in 20w or 10w~40? There is NEVER a wrong answer to cleaners/greases.....:cuss: There are some products that are a little better and are availible.....
