So I visited a local store a day or two ago and happened into a tough choice: the store had 2 used Glocks of particular note, one was a used 3rd Gen 35 (40 s&w) for $495 and the other, a used 3rd Gen 17L (9mm) for $595.
Usage: I currently shoot a pistol league at a local range. I used to shoot a Glock 19 and alternate with my SW 686. I sold the 19 to a friend to finance some reloading equipment, with the intent of getting a new semi for leagues later. I am torn between those 2 and cant decide.
Glock 35:
Cheaper
I have a Glock 20 (10mm) so reloading is almost the same parts/dies
If i want to shoot sanctioned IDPA/USPSA etc.., would be production class legal and major PF.
Upgraded to fiber optic front sight.
Cons: Slide wear, slide stop wear (replaceable)
Glock 17L
Legal for the leagues I currently shoot in.
Only Glock that is relatively "rare".
Ultimate target 9mm
I already have 9mm Glock accessories
Upgraded fiber optic front
Con:more expensive
Con:not usable in a lot of sanctioned events
Im leaning towards the 35 as it makes the most sense, and is the more future proof, however, the rarity of the 17L(this is only the 2nd ive ever seen) and the fact i can still use it for the league i do shoot, plus i prefer 9mm (not that 40 is bad) has me second guessing.
