Any of other black powder shooters out there had a chance actully shoot and "eye ball" the Lyman Ideal Rifle 38-55. I have both Rolliing Block and Sharps 45-70s, and a Shiloh 40-65. I've got to admit the 40-65 in a great rifle to shoot all day for a medium size fellow like me. I am tempted to invest in the 38-55, but thought I would get some feedback from other black powder shooters.

Best regards,

Glenn

it,s a dressed up italian little sharps,i have the little sharps in 44-40 and like it alot. if you don,t need the frills try to get a little sharps in 38-55. same gun with out a dress. eastbank.

My 38-55 is a H&R Buffalo Classic target, I can't imagine shooting one of these in 45-70 with the same loads I use in my Sharps way to light. Didn't know about these may have to add one to my wish list.

they don,t make the little sharps in 45-70, i did hear where a 45 colt was rechambered to 45-60, but i don,t think i would want that conversion.eastbank.
