To everyone that stripped (or believe they did), the set screw for the primer punch, Lyman responded quickly to a note on their website and sent me a new arm and set screw. It’s the same size, so too bad about that, but it’s a new pair. Shipping took 3 weeks after commitment, but everything’s taking longer these days.
Agree. Before the pandemic, I emailed Lyman about not having a fiberglass rod for the primer tube. Had one sent from Lyman in a week.

Good luck with primer mechanism.

I successfully primed 20 300 AAC Blackout cases yesterday. First test since replacing the primer arm. What is this fiberglass rod you mentioned? I recall seeing that in a previous post. Was it supposed to ship with our press, or is this a later, undocumented fix for a problem?

Wanted to add a little detail here as they are short staffed and it is hit or miss if the person you get is very knowledgable. I struck out first time, but she did get me in touch with someone that was able to help.

They call the stick a Primer follower, p/n 7726133. The bar is called the Auto Primer Feed Arm, p/n 7726139, that one is in the manual.
The set screw is p/n 7726148 and is 6-32 x 1/8".

They are running a 100+ man shop with only 30 people in the warehouse. Most of the support staff are taking calls from home and transferring to a better person is not available.

Super nice, but a little frustrating at first, but it all worked out. Thanks for the info here. It solved the problem in short order. Now I just have wait 2 weeks to get the package out.

I use a metal rod from a fireworks sparkler as a weight on my RCBS bench primer.
IMHO, that's not a very good idea. My understanding is that a plastic rod is used for 2 reasons.
1) The rods are possibly a plastic, like the powder canisters, that dissipates static charges.
2) Plastic has a lower mass and is therefore a lower health risk if launched from the tube.
