Lyman Brass Smith Powder Measure

No complaints with mine. I really like it. Quick to setup. Consistent throws. The quick detatch system works great when done and transferring left over powder back into the container.

Was it hard to disassemble to clean and does it leak (like my Lee (not so) Perfect Measure?

Dead simple disassembly and mine has never leaked a single speck of even the finest powder like True Blue.

De-grease it with alcohol when you get it then run powdered graphite through it to season it. Great little measure. Their little open frame press is fantastic also. The open front makes it really nice.

What graphite did you use? Did you run the whole hopper through?

I have one that I really like. Like said above, accurate throws and no leaks. A bit more fiddly to dial in a charge than my Hornady measures, but certainly not difficult at all. The hopper is a bit small, but that's really the only thing that I could say that's negative, and that would only be a very slight negative.

In fact, I like it enough that I just bought another one over the Thanksgiving weekend. I think you'll like it, and the price is right.

Your thoughts about this powder measure please. Thank you
Alan
I like mine. I bought it as an upgrade from my Lee Perfect Powder Measure which I had used for a few years without complaint, just wanted a measure that was a bit more refined, which the Lyman Brass Smith measure is. I find my powder drops pretty much stay within .1 gr. It has a clever charge weight adjustment where you unthread the outer sleeve of the metering cylinder. Tip: keep an eye on the little brass locking screw on adjustable metering cylinder - the screw can loosen in use, so I put a pencil mark on the adjustment line on top of the adjustable cylinder sleeve so I can see if it has moved (I don’t recall the outer sleeve/center plunger as ever having actually moved although the looking screw has loosened for me in use.). I think you’ll probably like it if you get one.

Best powder measure value out there. I have 4 set up for different calibers on turret press. Lyman has replacement hoppers for $4, bought 4, gel super-glued 2 hoppers together, doubled the powder capacity on each, which was its only drawback (stock small capacity).
