Has anyone put those two sights on a Deerstalker?
Accuracy with the regular hunting sights is good, I wonder if the additional hunderd bucks for the sights are justified?
How about just the front (17AEU) sight with the folding leaf in the back?
Does the 57 SML make the rifle bulky?

Also any good sources to buy the sights?

Thanks

Just mounted a pair of these on my percussion jaeger rifle, with apeture removed it's a ghost ring, really all you see if the front you are looking through and worlds better than that open leaf V arrangement.

What is that? "Destroyer" (Zerstoerer) it sounds like, local black powder smith/barrelmaker talks kraut all the time picked up a few words.

Your translation is correct.
I take it you DO recommend spending the money on these sights?

Who built your Jaeger? Is it a Pedersoli, meaning expensive? Did not know that it is imported into the US. Tried to get one a while back, then settled on the Lyman. How is the accuracy/quality?

Can you remove the rear sight (57SML) then reattach it with the same Zero?

Questions, questions, questions...

Thanks

Yep! GOOD sights, the Jaegers are both Pedersoli, one caplock, one flintie. Put the sight on the caplock, shoots well, 1-48" twist so compromise between ball and bullet. Have not had a need or desire to remove it yet, so i don't know about zero, maybe a witness mark or two? Accuracy and quality of both pieces are exemplery, yep, a little more money but what the hell hey?

Use up to 120 grains of Swiss 2F, or Pyrodex/777 equivelent.

How did you come to talk kraut? Local smith HATES speaking english (As if he can!) Maybe you two can chatter away in that rock grinding language! :)

Two Pedersoli Jaeger Rifles - Nice. Who imports those into the US?

Born and raised in Germany - went into exile in the US when Europe turned to liberal.
