Lyman peep on a pre-64 Model 70-How does it attach?

Anyone shoot a pre-64 Model 70 with a Lyman peep (57WJS)?

How does it attach?

Do you use the screws in the receiver from the factory or longer screws from Lyman?

How many screws?

Does it mar the finish?

The screws in the right side of the receiver are plug screws, use the screws that come with the sight. Easy installation after you remove the plug screws.

Use the screws that come with the peep sight, if those are missing get two replacement screws from Brownells, or Midway, you may have to trim the length. If the screws are to long you will know as soon as the bolt won't go back in.

I don't know for sure about your 57, but the 48 came in two types. The earlier ones required a cutout in the stock. Later ones were shaped to avoid hacking the stock.
