I'm considering another .22 just for the fun of it. No hunting or competition shooting. Just paper or soda cans.
So I'm thinking along the lines of an M&P 15-22 or the GSG 522. My LGS has a 522 for about $320 right now. Judging by Gun Broker it looks like the M&P 15-22 is in the $400 to $450 range. Now I'm pretty sure that from what I've read that the GSG is a pot metal gun. There may be nothing wrong with that, but I've sort of got a mental hurdle to get over with the whole 'pot metal' thing. Is the M&P pot metal also or steel?
I've read a lot of good reviews of the GSG and watched some videos. Sounds like it functions well but is more inexpensively made, and is more involved to take down.
Edited to add: What about the Colt M4?
To those that have experience with these two rifles, what are your thoughts?
Your help is appreciated.
