Hey guys. I'm planning to get a .22 rifle soon and wanna know what you think about the SIG 522. It's about $400 on Cheaperthendirt.com. It doesn't have sights with it, but i'll either get a red dot or .22 scope. Mostly for plinking and home defence.

So what do you think about it? Any other suggestions? I don't want to go over $450 for a rifle (shipping not included). I saw the GSG 522 and AK47 (for those who don't know, the GSG 522 is an MP5 style) and they seemed pretty nice for the price. I'm really a bigger fan of the AR15 and 556 style AR's then AK's or MP5's. No offence to those that like them.

My uncle's got one... Good rifle... fun, accurate, and eats anything I've thrown at it. Reliable little thing. I say get it. I plan on one in the coming months.

EDIT - HOLY CHOPPY SENTENCES! lol

Yea I've been watching reviews, shooting and field stripping videos on YouTube tonight and compared it to some others I found and seems this one is the best for the money right now. I'll stick a red dot on it for HD and possum/ other varmit control.

Love ours, its got my wife learning how to shoot rifles. Been as perfect as any .22LR can be shooting bulk pack ammo -- a few duds are inevitable.

Got it for $300 at a gun show a bit over a year ago, added a cheap scope, a bunch of Black Dog 27 round mags, and never looked back.
