Just took my brand new M&P9c out for its first trip at the range. Everything was excellent, and it ate everything I fed it. When i got home to clean in, I noticed on the rear of the slide it looks like the finish is a little blotchy? It was also like this a little towards the muzzle end. Anyone else experience this?

I haven't seen much on complaints of the M&Ps, finish wise. Yours' could have been one that slipped by.
Maybe somebody post of the same flaws and their results.
Contact S&W, tell them of your comcerns. If finish was improperly applied, they should make it right. Let us know of any updates.

Personally I don't see it as being a problem. The finish is not supposed to be a "High Luster Blue". The coating is for a service grade weapon and appears to be about average from what I've seen and my personal examples have the subdued finish.

If you clean and oil that surface, does it go away?
