just got the Cabela's flyer at my house. I have been considering getting an M&P for a while now. tough to beat at this price I would say. Also offering the Springfield Armory at $499. Both feel good in my hand. The M&P from an ergonomic perspective holds the edge for me. Opinions ??

i might have to hit up cabelas, last time i was there i found their guns to be on the expensive side, they migh have some deals for xmas or something

Sounds like a good deal.

I got my M&P40 through Davidsons for $513 about 8 months ago and it came with 3 hi cap mags, Bladetech holster and mag pouch. I love the gun its a great shooter and I love the way it looks and feels. The XD is a fine gun as well and has a great track record and a very loyal following. I say you can't go wrong with either I would get the one you are more attracted to.

Was the S&W $50 rebate and two free mags included in that price? If not, $379 for a NIB 9mm M&P and 4 magazines sounds like a deal to me.

Having shot both, I prefer the M&P to the XD hands down. For me the lower bore axis in the M&P forced recoil more back than up.

Both have been proven reliable for casual shooters.

Run and Get it-Great Deal!

I would get my A$$ over there an buy it!:what: Good Lord do you still get the 50 Dollar rebate too? Plus the Extra Mags--That is Awesome! I need to check with Cabela's Here in Omaha!....

The MP is more accurate for me then the XD. I do own two XD's they are Nice Guns and Reliable. But I have found the MP's to be Ergonomically Superior with less recoil and a little better finish. Also my two MP's have been totally Reliable. I have a full size .40 and 9mm. My next gun will be an MP .45 I will trade one of my current .45's for one.

The Best to You and Yours!

Frank

:uhoh: I just received a Cabela's Visa discount coupon. Man, if my store has one at that price ... I could get $85 off that... But my balance is too high already. :(

I got my 9mm compact M&P from there last year the same way. I had previously rented and shot both the XD and M&P at my range, and felt the M&P superior in every way.

Jump on the M&P. You will not regret it. Best polymer pistol I own.

I think the M&P is the best value going right now. I bought an M&P45 for $499. With the $50 rebate and two free mags it is quite a deal. The 45 is my 4th M&P (9, 40, and 9c).

Being that it's Cabela's and it's offered with two extra mags, I bet that the $429 price is after the $50 S&W mail in rebate and two free mags offer. $479 before rebate for this gun isn't a great deal. There's a place here that has them on sale for $449 for the compact and $429 for full size, both before rebate.

That was the case when I called the Cabela's in St. Louis. It was "on sale" at $479, down from $529. So after rebate it was $429.

I'd love to find one around here for $429 before rebate.
