I'm looking to load some cast handloads for my S&W M&P40, and I read that alot of the newer auto's have polygonal rifling (HK and Glock for example) and the barrels lead at an accelerated rate compared to conventional rifling. Does anyone know if the M&P40 has polygonal rifling or standard rifling? I searched the S&W website and my owners manual and didn't see any mention either way (no mention of the rifling at all actually, not even direction or rate of twist).
I have a Glock 23 sitting here next to my M&P and can't see the difference... although I can't see the difference between the Glock rifling and my 1911's rifling either.
If the M&P has the polygonal rifling I'll probably just stick to jacketed bullets... I hate scrubbing out leaded bores.
