Does anybody know if the M&P compacts will be getting the thumb safety option? I would love to have a 40S&W compact seeing as how the M&P fits me great. I know there are plenty of people out there who carry glocks an M&P's without problem but I won't go without a manual safety.

Have you shot the M&Pc in .40? My buddy has that gun and we both agree that the 9mm might have been a better choice for the compact frame...that .40 is SNAPPY. He bought it with the intention of getting a .357sig conversion barrel/spring...seeing as that makes MORE pressure, he's backed off of that idea. He isn't too keen on the no thumb safety with one in the pipe, so he carries without one in the chamber...better than carrying nothing I guess.

Thanks for the heads up. Snappy isn't usually too big an obstacle for me. I have a friend who has a kahr in .40 and it's not to bad, doesn't fit me that well either. I'll have to try one out. I've heard the .45 compact will have a thumb option, just wondering if the others will soon.

If you can shoot a Karh .40 then you can shoot any .40! I have an MK40 and she bites - but I love the gun.
