M1/1939 Testing Quiz

Gentelmen,
In early 1939 Ordnance had M1 Garand Rifles that came off the production line go to a number of tests. One of these tests before an M1 went to Stores was called the "Function Firing".
The quiz is how many rounds were fired for this Test?

Gentlemen,

The answer to this quiz is as follows:

I have an Ordnance file written on Feb. 3, 1939 which states that the "Function Firing" which is just one of the many tests and checks needed to be done before Rifles were shipped to "stores" shows that this test was 96 rds fired.

It's an easy one.
