Anybody got any ideas on how to secure the rear sight assembly in the dovetail on my Saginaw M1 carbine? It likes to work itself loose. :banghead:

Originals were always staked.....easy enough to do with sharp pointed punch....

My 1944 Inland has four stake indents....one on each side of the sight elevation ramp front & rear. Likely your gun has the remains of being staked & the sights likely a replacement wherein that was not done.

Thanks guys. It is a new aftermarket sight assembly I got from Numrich. It's real nice though, excellent quality. I think a combination of staking, locktite and shiming should do the job but I thought I'd check here to see what kind of tips you guys might provide.
