M1 Garand is jamming

I took my M1 shooting the other day and the empty casing got stuck between the reciver and the bolt. I have shot it about a 100 times and never had a problem with it till now. It has a new op rod spring.

"JammING" implies multiple times. Empty casing sounds like 1 time. If it's one time; then realize that Shiite Happens. There isn't a rifle or pistol on the planet that won't have a feed problem at least once. It doesn't exist. It's not a matter of IF, it's a matter of when.

If it's MULTIPLE times; try replacing the Op-Rod spring with the original. Might be stiff and need some breaking in. Just like when it was new.

Did you grease the op rod spring when you installed it? If not, doing so just might clear your problem up.

What ammo are you using? If not up to par with M-2 ball, you might get short strokes.
