Hi all,
The last quiz was as follows:
What happened in Oct. 1937 to have Winchester drop any work, even ammo production, on the M1 Garand?
Have fun
Thanks again
Clancy
The answer to this quiz is that Winchester wanted "advance information on its operation." Also it would "test " its operation. This would let Winchester give Ordnance an independent check of the performance of the gun at no cost to them. However, the Chief of Ordnance states that the development and manufacture of the rifle were too CONFIDENTIAL to disclose at that time.!!!!
Hope you had fun with this one. I will make an easy one to post.
Thanks again
Clancy
PS There's a ton more data on this file, but that's for more quizzes.
