SARCO is selling a kit of Italian manufacture to convert a 30.06 Garand to .308. The parts include barrel, op rod, rear handguard and stock. All parts are 1/2" shorter than USGI 30.06 length. The Italians did a lot of stuff with Garands after WWII, could this be some of that. The barrel and op rod are Berreta or Breda manufacture, both quality names. I'm starting to wonder if I'm going to run into a nightmare when they arrive and I start swapping stuff around. Anybody here have any knowledge or experience with these SARCO kits. I just thought it would be a good way to replace a worn out barrel and rechamber to .308 all at once. Now I'm starting to wonder. TIA.
